Division Reviews and Reorganizations 

COTAPSA has traditionally been involved in any reorganization of divisions within the City.  Our involvement ranges from consultation regarding severance packages (both with employees and management) to advocating for outplacement services and the finding of alternate employment within the City of Toronto.

 

COTAPSA is being consulted on Divisional Reviews that are occurring for the following reasons:

  • Programs have not been reviewed since amalgamation
  • There have been significant changes in processes and only minor changes to organizational structure
  • Divisions need to evaluate compliance with their mandates
  • Staff Retirements combined with growing responsibilities

COTAPSA protects our Members during these Program Reviews by ensuring:

  • Retraining is provided by the City of Toronto
  • Suitable placement within the City if no position exists within the Division
  • Proper Separation Packages
